Within the past year, working remotely part-time or full-time has become a reality for many. When our client inquired about a new home office fit for two full-time remote workers, we knew we could deliver. The customer's home and deck before our renovation. With three kids and two adults working from home, space was tight. We consulted on various location options for the new working space and ultimately recommended building an office addition off of the dining room. In addition to the spacious home office filled with natural light, our project evolved to include removing the current deck to add a new, expanded deck with a covered porch feature. The covered porch flowed seamlessly from the deck to the home office, which created a separate entrance for clients or co-workers, providing privacy from the main home. A behind the scenes look into our remodeling process for this addition, deck and additional basement space. Our dedicated architect also drew up plans for added space in the basement that sat under the office. The additional square footage added value to the home and provided our client with the opportunity to have a flexible space that could act as a secondary office or bedroom as needed. The new basement space and home office were tied into the existing structure by adding a set of French doors that could be closed for privacy during meetings. Our diligent team matched all of the exterior finishes to give the home a cohesive look. The final office space was outfitted with a lofted ceiling and wall-to-wall windows for a beautiful view of the backyard and a new deck complete with Timbertech decking and black aluminum handrails. And voilà! This addition added function, space and style to our customer's home as well as a beautiful home office space. We love the way this project turned out and can’t wait for more opportunities like this! Like what you see? Give us a call and request a quote for your dream project today!
